By using Climb's link tracking system, you can add source tags to URLs and see in the School Portal from where students accessed the Climb application.
How does it work?
At the end of the link you're using to send students to climb's website, add the following:
- ?src= followed by any word or phrase you want to use to identify the link source
- If you would like to include a subsource, add &sub_src= followed by any word or phrase you want to use to identify the subsource
For example, if you're sending students to Climb Credit from your FAQ page, you can add "?src=faq" to the end of the URL. If you're sending students to Climb through an email campaign, you can add "?src=email&sub_src=welcome", "src=email&sub_src=howtopay", etc.
If a student submitted a Climb application through a tagged URL, you'll be able to view the source in the School Portal report download!
How can we view application sources?
- On the application page, click "Download" to generate a report.
- In the report, you can see where a student came from in the "Application Source" and "Application Sub Source" columns
Best practices:
- Source tags should be as short and clear as possible
- Use only lowercase alphanumeric tags — no symbols
- Examples:
- https://climbcredit.com/apply/yourschool?src=loancalculator
- https://climbcredit.com/apply/yourschool?src=email&sub_src=financing
